Project Description
1st day:
We enter Greece with direction the city of Thessaloniki. Overnight in Thessaloniki
2nd day:
Travel to Kavala, Neapolis in the history of the Apostles, then to Philippi (theater, old Basilica, Forum Romanum, jail of St. Paul), on the ancient road called Via Egnatia. Travel through Amphipolis to Thessaloniki. Overnight.
3rd day:
Sightseeing tour in Thessaloniki: White tower, Byzantine Walls, Galerius’ triumphal arch, Agora, St. Sofia church, St. Dimitrios church. Overnight.
4th day:
Excursion to Vergina to the Macedonian tombs, then to Veria to the birth place of Great Alexander. Travel through Kastania-pass , Grevena to Kalambaka to visit the church “Koimissis tis Theotokou”, built in the 11th century. Overnight in Kalambaka.
5th day:
Visiting of the monasteries on the Meteora rocks – frescos, icons and other beauties from the Byzantine times. Travel through Trikala, Lamia, Thermopile and Brallos-pass to Delphi. Overnight in region Delphi.
6th day:
Visit the Apollon sanctuary in Delphi – archaeological site and museum. Travel through the canal of Korinthos to Tolo. Hotel in Tolo.
7th day:
Visit the ancient Korinthos, where Apostle Paul was converted. Ancient ruins, forum and sanctuary of Apollon. In the afternoon we continue our trip to Mycene to visit the archaeological site, the lion-gate and the treasure house of Atreus. Back to Tolo through Tyrans. Overnight in Tolo.
8th day:
Excursion to Epidauros, where you find the best survived ancient theater in Greece. Travel to the port of Kechrai, then through the canal of Korinthos to Athens. Overnight in Athens.
9th day:
In the morning we walk from Agora of Athens to Areos Pagos (Marsh-hill), where Apostle Paul held his speech to the Athenian philosophers. We visit Acropolis, than we start the sightseeing tour in the city of Athens and in the port of Pireus. Overnight in Athens.
10th Day:
